How to Write the Perfect Home Swap Profile
Your profile is your first impression. It’s what helps other members decide if they trust you enough to stay in your home – or let you into theirs.
Here’s how to write a great one:
1. Start with a short, friendly intro
Keep it personal. Mention your name, where you’re from, and what you love about travelling.
Example:
“Hi! We’re Anna and Marcus from Stockholm. We love long dinners, slow travel, and discovering new neighborhoods by foot. Home swapping fits our style perfectly – we’ve done 4 so far!”
2. Describe your home like you’re showing it to a friend
Be specific but warm. Mention the layout, number of rooms, any perks (e.g. balcony, espresso machine), and what makes it unique.
3. Share a bit about your lifestyle and schedule
Let others know when you usually travel (summer holidays, weekends, work trips) and what kinds of places you’re looking for.
4. Add high-quality, natural photos
Think clean, well-lit, and real. No need for perfection – people want honest, cozy spaces, not Airbnb showroom vibes.
5. Be honest and human
If you have a cat that stays behind, say it. If your home is in a lively neighborhood, say it. The right match will appreciate the transparency.
