Cleaning Checklist Before and After a Home Swap
HomeSwap is built on trust. Leaving your home clean and ready makes a huge difference – and it’s just as important to leave the place you stayed in exactly as you found it.
Here’s a simple checklist for both ends of the swap:
Before guests arrive
Fresh linens on all beds
Towels washed and neatly placed
Empty fridge of perishables
Clean kitchen counters + sink
Empty trash bins
Bathroom scrubbed + toilet cleaned
Floors vacuumed or swept
Personal valuables stored away
Welcome note and local tips left behind
Leave space in the closet or dresser
WiFi code clearly visible
Spare keys or lockbox access arranged
After your stay
Strip used beds and gather towels (or wash, if requested)
Clean dishes and empty dishwasher
Take out trash and recycling
Wipe down used surfaces
Leave the home in the condition you’d like to return to
Say thank you – a simple message or a small note goes a long way
